On Perioperative Anesthesia Management of Severe Patients

With the development of modern medicine, perioperative anesthesia management is more and more mentioned.Today we will learn about the management of perioperative anesthesia in patients with severe and critical conditions.

Preoperative evaluation.

Anesthesiologists need to correctly inform patients and their families of the outcome of the disease and risk assessment, and strategies for coping with the risk, so that they can make a choice between efficacy and risk after receiving accurate information.

Preoperative preparation.

According to the characteristics of critical patients, multi-disciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment (MDT) was carried out to develop individualized perioperative management plans for patients by taking patients as units.

Since many large clinical studies have included critically ill patients as exclusion criteria, so far, no authoritative expert consensus or guidelines have been issued for perioperative management of critically ill patients, so the discussion on preoperative MDT is particularly important.

Monitoring equipment.

Anesthesiologists need to use advanced monitoring equipment in the perioperative period, such as invasive hemodynamic monitoring equipment, medical temperature probe, transesophageal echocardiography, real-time temperature monitoring sensor, brain oxygen monitoring equipment, BIS monitoring equipment, to improve the safety of critical patients.

It is very important for anesthesiologists, surgeons and surgical nurses to communicate fully before the operation. Sufficient preoperative communication ensures the smooth operation of critical patients and assists in the good connection of all aspects of the operation.
