The previous article detailed TTM status and basic knowledge. This article mainly explains the specific implementation method of TTM and the role of medical temperature probe in TTM patient temperature monitoring.


It is recommended that a new type of cooling device with temperature feedback control system is preferred for TTM treatment. The first choice is the temperature regulator in the nasal cavity, body surface or blood vessel.

If this type of conditioning device is not available, traditional body surface cooling measures can also be selected to complete the TTM treatment, including cold external cooling, water circulation cooling blanket, air circulation cooling blanket, or alcohol wiping the whole body to cool down physical cooling methods.


For patients with heat radiation disease, if implemented in general physical cooling method after confirmed invalid, and the temperature is higher than 40 for 2 hour duration may consider blood purification therapy to reduce the patient's temperature.


In the implementation of TTM treatment, continuous core temperature monitoring is recommended for TTM treatment patients.

Based on the advantages of safety, easy operation, non-invasive, high precision and rapid response, the first recommendation is to select the body cavity/ esophageal general purpose temperature probe to monitor the core body temperature of patients in TTM treatment.

Secondly, it is recommended to use Foley Catheter temperature probe to monitor the bladder temperature

In this way, the body temperature probe at this position can accurately and in real time monitor the temperature changes of patients, so as to avoid the adverse sequelae caused by TTM treatment.


In the TTM treatment for patients, especially when the patient's temperature is already within the hypothermic line, the doctors should pay more attention to hemodynamics, and dynamic monitoring and evaluation should be carried out on volume status, fluid distribution, cardiac function, afterload and intravascular pulmonary fluid.

Have conducted TTM treatment of patients and the target temperature less than 36 , EEG monitor is recommended along with temperature monitor.
